NYFACE~ ERMAGERD by Vertaki NYFACE~ ERMAGERD by Vertaki
This is my half of a trade with  and I LOVE HER HALF :D
This Sculpture is very small and very light weight lol the wings were especially fun as it was a test in the new style for dragon wings (I like to test new technique in trades lol <.< ) It is made from super sculpey firm with a wire frame for support. EXTREMELY FRAGILE!!
ANYWAYS Ny is a very talented artist and you should go look at her stuff! she did an amazing picture for me and I am proud to present to her her dragon IN 3D!!!!! :P :P :P even though she got to see it a few days ago hahaha

This is amazing! I love the muscle toning in the wings, too, it's just so good!

excellent pose and balance. wings can get really heavy when using sculpey.

I envy your ability to do wings and not have them weigh 80 million pounds and tip over the whole sculpture. I've been experimenting and trying to figure that out. Probably doesn't help that the sculpture I'm working on is rather large and therefore needs obnoxious wings

looool I used to have so many problems with wings and I finally got sick of it so I tried something new and it works :D im always trying new things when doing trades to help build my arsenal of problem solving lol the wings would be considered paper mache :)

I never thought of using paper mache actually, I'm assuming you'd do it after baking the whole thing. I guess there isn't a problem with it integrating with the baked sculpey?

on the Nyface sculpt I didnt is before baking.. that was a PITA @_@ cause the wings got in the way of everything when sculpting the details and not to mention painting... :/ with Heshena (whom I have not posted yet.. I did her wings afterwards. after all the sculpting, baking and painting. its proven to go a lot smoother. I also went a bit farther to smooth the surface of the wings more which I failed to do on the nyface one @_@ so we will see once the wings are painted I will be posting her :)
as for the blending, the glue in the paper mache sticks to the body of the sculpture(I don't blend them) and when its dry but still brittle I just add more support :)

i do that with a lot of my art. especially if i don't know how to draw a certain thing- like hands or whatever. But yours turned out amazing! I bet it was better to have another criticize it :)
